Donate Shoes and Save Lives!

Our shoe program is growing rapidly thanks to people like Susan Dersch with Northminster Presbyterian Church who recently led a hugely successful shoe drive over two consecutive weekends in Springfield, OH. Susan and her team collected more than 6,000 pounds of shoes and completely filled our 20 foot box truck. This one shoe drive will bring safe water to 2,000 people who are currently experiencing the vicious cycle of drinking contaminated water and then being sick from waterborne illness.

WaterStep collects gently used shoes through shoe drives and permanent drop sites. Shoe drives are hosted by schools, churches, businesses, community groups, etc. and are held for a specific time frame. Permanent drop sites are collection points where WaterStep boxes are available year round for people to drop their shoes. Interested in hosting a shoe drive or a drop site? Email Pam.Alaimo@waterstep.org today!

Searching for a fun volunteer opportunity? Look no further. Volunteers come to our headquarters in Old Louisville and sort our collected shoe donations. It’s fun and we encourage socializing while you volunteer. We are looking for regular volunteers who could dedicate a few hours weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. Please reach out to Pam.Alaimo@waterstep.org to join this wonderful group.
